ABOUT

Silencing in the Arts is a research project that interrogates the culture of silence permeating the art world, looking specifically at the extent and impact of the misuse of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) within the Canadian visual arts and culture sector.

Through interviews with artists and arts workers who have signed an NDA with a Canadian arts organization and consultations with legal and mental health professionals, the research will culminate in an online resource intended to empower and educate the arts community about their rights when it comes to confidentiality.

The resource will launch in Spring 2025.
